We now have both honeypots up and running along with two irc bots publishing their output to our irc network!

What we’re using:

To host our honeypot we use http://www.ramnode.com/
We love ramnode. Their support is speedy, their vps are fast and their filtered IP addresses in Seattle are very effective.

Our second honeypot runs on a 123systems VPS (http://123systems.net) but as of late we’ve had a few large problems with their services, mainly a lot of lag. We hope to say different soon. 🙂

We use https://github.com/desaster/kippo as our honeypot and https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-kippo-an-ssh-honeypot-on-an-ubuntu-cloud-server this to help us through the install and setup!

We also use https://github.com/e000/TailBot to relay it all to our irc channel 🙂
